Cuyahoga County Public Library


Passed by the State Library Board on April 19, 2013
WHEREAS, the Cuyahoga County Public Library has been providing library services to the residents of Northeast Ohio for 90 years; and
WHEREAS, the Cuyahoga County Public Library serves nearly 620,000 residents in 47 communities across Cuyahoga County with the mission of being at the center of community life by providing an environment where reading, lifelong learning and civic engagement thrive; and
WHEREAS, the Cuyahoga County Public Library has garnered national recognition including being recognized as a 5-Star Library by Library Journal, being awarded the #1 ranking in its class by Hennen’s American Public Library Ratings, and recently being named by the Institute of Museum and Library Services as a finalist for the National Medal for Museum and Library Service, the nation’s highest honor conferred on museums and libraries for service to the community; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the members of the Board of the State Library of Ohio, meeting in regular session this 19th day of April, 2013, at Toledo, Ohio, express their gratitude and appreciation for the Cuyahoga County Public Library.
