Purpose
statelib is a moderated mailing list for state of Ohio employees. statelib provides state employees with up–to–date information on the State Library of Ohio's programs, services and activities. Some examples of statelib content include:- Practical research tips from professional librarians
- Listings of new library databases and materials
- Internet & database training class schedules
- Legislative updates on statewide library issues
Who can subscribe
Because most of the services discussed on statelib are restricted to state employees, only state employees with valid state employee email addresses may subscribe.Submitting Content
Research Services staff members at the State Library of Ohio are the primary contributors to statelib. If you have a message or information you would like to have included on statelib, submit your message directly to the list: statelib@winslo.state.oh.us.
Subscribing
To subscribe to statelib, send an (empty) message to
- statelib–subscribe@winslo.state.oh.us.
- For the subject field enter the following
Subject: statelib request - NOTE: If you do not know how to format a message in plain text, please check with your local suppport person or, you can read the following document, Mailing List Formating Guidelines, which includes instructions for the most common email clients.
A confirmation request message will be sent back to you. To confirm your subscription, just reply to the ``Reply–To:'' address. Usually, the ``reply'' function of your mail program will do this.
Once the list–owner receives your confirmation, your address will be added to the subscriber database and you will receive a message to tell you that you are a subscriber.
Unsubscribing
To unsubscribe from statelib just send a message to statelib–unsubscribe@winslo.state.oh.us, then reply to the confirmation request.You should receive a message to let you know that you are no longer a subscriber.
