How to Find Popular News Articles
Articles in popular publications are those published in the general, mass media. The intended audience is the general public. They are magazines and newspapers that can be commonly found for sale at newsstands and supermarkets.
Try these databases to find articles in the popular press (some databases also include scholarly articles):
These databases provide many electronic full text articles and refer you to print journals for other articles. Look for these links:
- In some databases, full text displays automatically, or a link such as Attached Full Text, PDF, or HTML, etc. finds full text within the database.
- The link Find a Copy uses standard protocols to look for online full text, including other OhioLINK databases and library e-journal subscriptions.
- Find a Copy also indicates whether the State Library subscribes to the journal in print or electronically.
The State Library provides free classes on the use of the OhioLINK databases for state employees. View our class schedulefor a full listing of courses.
The Research Services librarians at the State Library also have access to hundreds of resources not listed here. They can provide in-depth searches and further recommendations on appropriate sources (electronic or print) to meet your information needs.
