1. What is the theme for 2008?
"Catch the Reading Bug @ Your Library!"
This is the forth year that the State Library of Ohio has been a member of The Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP), a multi–state collaborative. Here is a listing of the forty-four states involved in CSLP.
2. What is the theme for 2009?
The theme revolves around music and the arts.
The children's slogan is "Be Creative @ Your Library". .
The young adult slogan is "Express Yourself @ Your Library".
3. What organizations are providing incentives for 2008?
Upstart is providing a large variety of materials from which to choose, including the customary posters, bags, reading records, bookmarks, and buttons. A colorful flier featuring all items available to order will be included with the program manual. Incentives are provided by the 44 state consortium through Upstart. Ordering information and pictures are available at http://www.cslpreads.org
4. Where else may I order incentives for 2008?
For more incentives, contact companies like Kidstamps, Demco, Rivershore Reading Store and Oriental Trading
5. What is the deadline for ordering materials from Upstart and how do I get an order form?
Order forms for materials from Upstart are included with the program manual. Check out the website:  Upstart
If orders for items are received by Upstart by December1, 2007, they will be shipped by March 1, 2008.
Orders received by January 1, 2008 will be shipped by April 1, 2008.
Orders received March 1, 2008 will be shipped by May 1, 2008
Orders can be placed by phone (1–800–448–4887), fax (1–800–448–5828), (or by mail (Upstart, W5527 State Road 106, P.O. Box 800, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin 53538–0800).
6. Is there a supplemental online manual?
No.

7. Is the artwork available online?
The base artwork designed by Harry Bliss and Jan Duursema is available only on the CD that came with your manual.
8. May I use the artwork to make t–shirts or other products to sell to patrons?
No. The artwork is copyrighted and is the property of Upstart for use only with the 2008 Ohio Reading Program theme.
The following statement from CSLP applies:

NEW RULES OF USE STATEMENT

 "The CSLP Rules of Use (http://www.cslpreads.org/rou.htm) are very specific in terms of the allowable use of CSLP art. CSLP members who post CSLP artwork on their websites are required to make all attempts to code the artwork to discourage non-members from downloading or copying it."

Libraries who choose to post the artwork should use the following statement with the artwork:

"Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) is the sponsoring organization for the 2008 Summer Library Program. Artwork is for use by CSLP members only. Copyright 2007-2008 by Highsmith Inc. All rights reserved. No images may be reproduced without written permission."

9. I did not receive a printed manual because our library moved. How can I obtain a copy?
The State Library will have a few extra copies available to mail out. We are mailing all manuals to the main library address for distribution within each library system. To update your address or if you did not receive your copy, contact Ruth Metcalf at 1–800–686–1532 or (614) 644–6910, rmetcalf@sloma.state.oh.us.
10. I received my printed manual but need another copy. How do I obtain one?
The State Library will have a few extra copies of the printed manual. Contact Ruth Metcalf at rmetcalf@sloma.state.oh.us if you need a copy of the manual(s).
