Wadsworth Public Library
Teacher Loan Policy
- A separate Teacher Loan library card will be issued upon request. The teacher must possess and maintain a personal Wadsworth or Clevnet library card in good standing. In addition, the teacher loan application must be signed by the teacher's building administrator. In the case of a home school educator, the individual must present a copy of the registration letter received from the appropriate school district superintendent. Teacher Loan cards will expire yearly on August 31. The Teacher Loan card may be renewed if the teacher provides proof of teaching assignment for the new school year.
- Teachers maintaining a personal library card with fines or fees exceeding the maximum fine/fee threshold for borrowing will not be permitted to use their Teacher Loan card until the personal fines/fees are below the threshold.
- A Teacher Loan is for 30 days (except for videos, which are two weeks). No fines will be charged on materials checked out on a Teacher Loan card; however, an overdue notice will be sent when the materials are two weeks overdue.
- All materials checked out on the Teacher Loan card are the responsibility of the teacher. DAMAGED, LOST, or STOLEN materials are the financial obligation of the teacher. When a Teacher Loan is 6 weeks overdue, the teacher will be billed for the cost of replacement of those materials.
- Materials checked out on a Teacher Loan card should be for CLASSROOM USE ONLY and not for personal borrowing, such as current fiction and best sellers. All materials are checked out and returned to the Circulation Desk.
- Each library card on the computer has a total value limit of $1,000. When the $1,000 limit is reached on a card, the computer will not allow further borrowing on that card until some items are returned.
- The Teacher Loan library card is for use at the Wadsworth Public Library only. Other libraries DO NOT honor our Teacher Loan card.
- REMEMBER – Return videocassettes after 2 weeks; all other materials are due in 4 weeks.
- Because of the limited availability of holiday and seasonal titles, we may not be able to completely fill requests for those items.
The Children's Department staff will be happy to pre–select books for you as we have in the past. Please try to give us at least 4 days' to 2 weeks notice to collect the materials. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at 335–1295, or stop in at the Children's Department desk.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation,
Children's Department Staff
