Huron Public Library

Public Meetings And Records

A. Public Meetings

In compliance with Section 121.22(F) of the Revised Code of Ohio, meetings of the Board of Trustees shall be open to the public. Minutes of such meetings shall be available for public inspection. Notice of such meetings shall be kept posted within the Library. Notice of special or extraordinary meetings shall be given to the media in advance. At all times patron's registration records and the personnel files shall remain confidential in compliance with State and Federal laws. The Board reserves the right to hold executive sessions in accordance with Section 121.22(G) of the Revised Code.

B. Records

The Records Retention Commission of the Huron Public Library, composed of all seven members of the Board of Trustees, has approved the following:

Retention Schedule:
Videotapes from the Huron Public Library's building security system:
The tapes will be disposed of after 10 days, as they are no longer of administrative value.

Other library records will be retained in accordance with the Local Government Records Program Retention Schedule provided by the Ohio Historical Society. Refer to Exhibit XI for a complete list of retention requirements.
