Governmet Printing Office (GPO) and NTIS provides access to bibliographic records

The State Library of Ohio is participating in a pilot project to provide access to online technical reports from the National Technical Information Service (NTIS).  The pilot project between the Governmet Printing Office (GPO) and NTIS provides access to bibliographic records for approximately 240,000 publications from 1964-2000 from the NTIS data storage and retrieval system.  Through DARTS: Depository Access to Reports, Technical and Scientific, depository libraries are able to download at no charge full-text electronic documents for which links are available.

NTIS is the largest central resource for United States government funded scientific, technical, engineering and business related information.  There are over 350 subject areas from over 200 federal agencies.  This is an invaluable resource for scientific and technical information covering health and medicine, food and agriculture, biological and chemical warfare, preparedness and response and safety training.

Contact Government Information Services at 614-644-7051 or refhelp@sloma.state.oh.us for assistance from a librarian in searching DARTS.

The State Library is participating as the regional depository for Ohio.  Other federal depositories in Ohio may also choose to participate.
