Mother Goose Box
Tiffin-Seneca Public Library has a total of 16 Mother Goose Boxes that are available for checkout. Originally they were used exclusively for Home Daycare providers, but were later made available for use by preschool teachers and other daycare centers.

Each box contains 20 books, the majority on the topic, but a few others are added for variety.   In addition to the children’s books, there are a resource book provided with ideas for the teacher/caregiver, a CD, a DVD, and a toy. We try to find toys that fit the theme—a puzzle or puppet or some other age appropriate item.
The Mother Goose Boxes are stored in our Extension Office and the requests are also handled by Extension. Patrons can pick up their box when it is ready for them or they can be delivered and picked up by our Extension librarian. Each box is checked for content and condition when returned before it is circulated again.

We are in the process of putting together two new boxes. The boxes we currently have are:

  • Community Helpers
  • Folk Tales, Fairy Tales and Nursery Rhymes
  • Seasons
  • Colors
  • Counting and Numbers
  • Friends
