The State Library of Ohio's catalog contains approximately 800,000 items which circulate to the public on a walk-in basis. Particular strengths in this collection include: government documents, business, management, education, health, and criminal justice. Not all materials are listed in the on-line catalog.

Patron Registration – Get a Card

State of Ohio employees may register by phone, mail, in person, or online and must provide their complete work and home addresses.

Ohio residents may borrow materials directly from the State Library on a walk-in basis. To become a registered borrower, Ohio residents may register in person by presenting at least one piece of identification with a current address, or online. Ohio residents applying online must pick up their card in person and present identification.

Circulation Policy

State Library books circulate for 21 days and may be renewed as many times as needed, providing no holds have been placed by other customers.

OhioLINK books circulate for 21 days. OhioLINK books may be renewed ONCE for an additional 21 days, providing no holds have been placed by other customers.

OhioLINK media circulate for 7 days with renewals permitted.
