State Library of Ohio awards $495,215 to Cleveland Public Library for the KnowItNow24X7 virtual reference service

The State Library of Ohio Board recently approved a $495,215 federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) LSTA grant to Cleveland Public Library for the KnowItNow24X7 virtual reference service.

“KnowItNow24x7 continues to be one of the busiest services of its kind in the country,” said Don Boozer, KnowItNow24X7 Coordinator.  “The continuing support of the members of the State Library Board and the State Librarian is greatly appreciated." The reference service for all Ohioans anywhere anytime has developed beyond its original online chat service and now includes email, instant messaging and texting options.  "We're looking forward to making enhancements to the collaborative statewide virtual reference service in the coming year for both the public and participating librarians," expressed Boozer. The KnowItNow24X7 grant will provide funding through June 30, 2012.
